Creating round sparkly new jewels

Creating round sparkly new jewels

Creating round sparkly new jewels

The point of this technic is to make a new shiny and colorful surface inside the flat stone setting, and to do so, you can use plenty martials form metal chains, leather or fabric cords, plastic elements, and much more.

You can even use leftover pieces of materials, because you really need very little of them.

Here you can see a way to create these shiny circles with metal chains, SW rhinestone and placing crystals, Druzy like cabochons or embedding elements in the center.

So, how to create such a piece?
1. Place the chain or rhinestone inside to see how much of it you need, and cut the exact length that would sit perfectly in place.

2. Once you cut a small piece of metal chain you need to open the link at the end and connect it to the other end to make a closed circle, this way it will look like a one piece.

3. After you made sure the elements that you want are at the right size to fit in, you spread the glue all around the surface of the setting, then placing the elements inside and leaving it to dry for a few minutes.
Just make sure you don’t use too much glue so it makes a mess, or too little so the element could fall.

4. Placing the elements back inside the setting needs to be made with gentle preciseness, the best tool to help you do that is a pair of tweezers.

Key elements in these designs:
The key element that will make the final result look much more beautiful is if you mix metal plating colors together. Here you can see a yellow gold plated base with rose gold gourmet chain, or a nickel pendant with yellow gold chain inside.

The secret for making these elements look really beautiful is the symmetric and clean look of the final result, so good luck and have fun creating!
