Take a look at this easy and simple tutorial for creating your own beautiful classic elastic bracelet made with stone settings on a double silicon thread and Crystals.
Step 1: Gather your materials
The materials you need for making this kind of bracelet are very few.
A roll of stretched silicone thread for beading
Open back stone settings that have 4 holes on the sides (stone settings that are also for sewing)
Small crimp beads
A plier tool
Step 2: Prepper the elements for one bracelet
This cup chain bracelet can stretch a bit and slide on the wrist when wearing it, but not more than that, it still needs to hold the hand quite closely.
The size is important when making this kind of bracelet, so you should see how many stone settings you need to use for one bracelet.
For example, these bracelets are 16cm long and making a fairly small size bracelet.
Also, cut a small piece of the silicon thread at about three times longer than the row of stone settings you have.
Step 3: Creating the bracelet
Each one of the stone settings, if it is a large 16x16 square or a small 29ss have two holes on each side that the silicon thread needs to be slid through.
So, you need to fold the silicon thread in two and slide it into the top holes and the lower holes on each setting, and keep this order all the way to the end.
Step 4: Closing the bracelet
The ends of top and bottom lines of the silicon thread need to meet inside the stone setting so it will be closed nicely without showing any of it. Slide a small crimp bead and press it tightly with the help of the plier tool.
When you have small settings like 39ss\8mm you should close each end of the silicon thread with a crimp bead in a different stone setting, so it won’t jam the crystal that needs to be embedded inside. If it is a larger setting such as 12mm Rivoli it is fine to close both ends in the same setting.
Designing ideas:
Making a closed, stretched bracelet of 39ss\8mm stone setting is the basic one, but here are more ideas for upgrading your bracelet collection.
1. Using metal casting beads, natural beads, small or big ones to make the bracelet even more interesting.
2. Making a centerpiece with a few larger stone settings with crystals in the middle of the bracelet.
3. Make a bracelet with several kinds of stone settings and create your own designed cup chain combination.
4. The perfect place to use one shape of stone setting, but in a variety of metal plating colors.
