How to make starchy settings bracelets with embedding metal elements

with Aurora / Swarovski / Preciosa Crystals and Cup Chain's metal casting elements

How to make starchy settings bracelets with embedding metal elements

Silicone bracelets are recently back in fashion BI time!

It's fun to wear, perfect as a fun gift to give and receive, and most importantly, they are easy to make.

We have already gone over the fundamentals of how to make stretch bracelets. You can read more in detail here in the guide on "the fundamentals of "Step-by-step making stretchy silicone bracelets with basic settings."

In the following article, we wanted to give you some more cool ideas that can easily be applied and upgrade your stretchy rhinestone bracelets.

Above: To create this unique style, we used metal cast elements in which tiny crystals can be embedded.

We embed the castings inside the blank sew-on settings instead of the crystals.

Cup Chain offers metal casts in different styles that can be decorated with crystals or other metal casts without crystals; you can find them all in the embedding elements category.

The embedding element's advantage is that they can embed into the blank settings just as crystals are placed - with the help of fastening the prongs of the settings on the metal cast element.

This way, you can create bracelets with a vibrant look with small details and combinations of crystals and metals.

The subjects covered in this article are:

  • Materials needed to make the bracelets

  • Highlights of making the silicone bracelet, using sew-on settings.

  • Cup Chain's embedding elements and how to use them

  • Tips and styling ideas

Tools and materials needed to make the bracelets:

  • Small crimp beads

Quick overview - how to make stretch bracelets with sew-on settings.

1. So you start by choosing the size of stone settings and other metal elements you would like to use - place them next to a ruler so you would know exactly the length you need to make the bracelet at the right size for wearing.

2. Now you cut two pieces of silicon cord - Start by holding the center metal element in two holes right in the middle of the cord.

3. Now, all the stone settings for sewing have four holes, so you need to slide them on two parallel cords one by one until you finish the bracelet.

4. To finish off the bracelet in a nice clean way, you need to hold all the ends of the cords together in one stone setting, and use the crimp beads to hold them tightly together, and cut off the extra parts you don't need.

5. So the bracelet is ready now for embedding, crystals and other metal embedding elements as you like!

Note: The castings are decorated with antique coatings

Cup Chain's embedding elements and how to use them:

Be sure to choose sew-on stone settings and metal casts of the appropriate size.

It is important to remember that not every metal cast is suitable for placement in stone settings; even with the suitable diameter or shape for the diameter, it does not guarantee that the metal cast element will sit properly in place.

We have gathered only metal casts that are suitable for embedding.

The metal casts, like the other Cup Chain's products, can be chosen from 17 different metal plating finishes, so there are no limits to the designs and variations that can make.

You will find decorated metal casts with or without a place for rhinestones.

If you have chosen a casting with stones for inlay, be sure also to select suitable crystals. Usually, these will be tiny rhinestone crystals in PP sizes.

For more information on crystal sizes, you can find them here.

To glue the tiny crystals, it is recommended to use a dedicated glue, and it is better not to be thick enough that he can smoothly get into the little guys in the foundry and glue the stone.

To glue the rhinestones, use setter magical pick to lift the crystal and place it in the right place.

Here is another guide where you will find tips for PP placement.

Tips and styling ideas

Try to look at it this way.

The crystals give an elegant and shimmering look, and the metal shine and hue.

Play with the balance of crystals and metal casts according to your styling and create amazing styles.

  • A combination of crystals and castings
  • Combining different metal colors

Try to combine different metal colors as you see in the following picture.

So, good luck with your work, and have fun!

Cup Chain team.
