When you have a vision of how exactly the piece of jewelry you are working on needs to look like, it’s really irritating to not find the right color or size of crystals to use, here are tips to help you with just this problem.
So, when you have a metal casting element with a place for a specific shape of stone, as these 10X8 oval stone settings, you don’t always have to embed only this size of crystal or glass stone, see what you can do differently:
For example, in the beads necklace I glued a 14X10 oval SW Topaz crystal in a 10X8 setting, it’s fine because the crystal doesn’t set too high, to get damaged on the sides.
Another way is to apply CG-500 SW glue for crystals inside the setting, and place small crystals inside. In this necklace, I wanted to use brown crystal on the sides to match the brown leather, and two tone pink crystals for the center setting of this metal centerpiece. I didn’t have any Brown 10X8 oval crystal or glass stone, So I glued 18pp L.C.Topaze SW crystals inside these settings, to get the brown color I was looking for.
Have fun creating in your own kind of style!
